Atlantic City casino revenue dips, while profit rises

According to The Press of Atlantic City, casino revenues in Atlantic City dropped 4.9% during the first six months of 2014, while profits increased 17.3% during the same period.  The increase in profitability is partially attributed to the strength of the Borgata, which is flush with funds from a settlement reached in June with Atlantic City regarding historical property-tax assessments. Three casinos are anticipated to close this year, including the Revel, Showboat and Trump Plaza.
