National Governors Association opposes online gaming ban
Posted: May 19, 2014 Posted by: The HillAccording to The Hill, the National Governors Association has formally opposed any ban against online gaming. The Association issued a letter to Congress detailing opposition to a national online gaming ban, expressing concern that such action would challenge the federal-state relationship. Previously, the Justice Department had banned online gambling until reversing the policy in 2011 by limiting the Wire Act to only apply to sports betting. Nevada, Delaware and New Jersey have all approved online gambling within their borders, while several other states are considering expansion as well.
